Retirement planning designed for you
We like to get to know you properly. Everything stems from us understanding what you want (and we don’t just mean financially). To do this we’ll take you through our Retirement Success RoadMap to learn more about you and your situation, and to ultimately design the best wealth strategy for your retirement.
First things first…
Before you become a client, we offer you a free phone consultation (click here to join our waiting list). This allows you to get a feel for us, and for us to understand your situation a bit better. We’re then able to give you a personal quote for the planning stage, so you can decide if you want to take things further. If you do, this is what happens next…
Four steps to create your retirement plan
1. Understanding what you want
To start, we need to know what your hopes and dreams are for your retirement. So, we begin with a meeting at our Christchurch office (or online if that’s more convenient for you), and we ask you an awful lot of questions. We’re qualified life planners, so we know how to help you pull all your thoughts together and figure out what your priorities are. We also enjoy getting to know you at this stage (coffee and biscuits will probably be involved).
2. Creating your financial plan
Once we’ve understood what you want, we create your financial plan (which forms the basis of all our work with you). By gathering together details of your investments, pensions, bank accounts and assets, we provide a very clear view of where you’re at (and where you’re heading). Using this ‘big picture’ we can then recommend how best to structure everything to achieve the hopes and dreams you talked about.
3. Designing your wealth strategy
If you decide you want us to look after your wealth for you, we’ll design a specific investment strategy that has the highest chance of delivering what you want (and one you’re able to stick to). Rather than trying to beat the market or predict the future, we help you carefully invest your wealth using evidence-based data. Read more about our approach to investing here.
4. Guiding you in the future
Holding your nerve when markets move isn’t easy. We guide you through these times, giving you reassurance, helping you keep to your strategy and advising on decisions you might have to make. We help with tax, estate and legacy planning, and meet with you regularly to catch up and review things to make sure your plan is still giving you what you need.

Our fees
We keep our fees simple with no hidden costs. We charge two fees, one for planning and one for advising. That’s it.
Fixed Planning Fee
This is a one-off fee for steps 1 and 2, which we calculate for you at your free initial consultation chat. The exact fee will depend on how complex your finances are. But to give you an idea, the average fee is £2,500. Talk to us and we’ll give you a quote.
Ongoing Management & Advice Fee
This is the fee for steps 3 and 4. We add together the value of all your investments under our management and charge around 1.45%* of this amount per year. This fee covers everything, including all the charges associated with investing, like fund manager fees and administration costs.
*1.45% is based on a portfolio of £1m. The more your portfolio is worth, the lower the percentage. To give you a comparison, the average cost of investing using a financial adviser in the UK is 2.18% [Source: Langcat Report, Oct 2020]
“It isn’t like a business appointment. If we get an email to say there’s a review, we look forward to it. They’re not just financial advisers; they’re people we genuinely get on with and trust.”
— Nick & Debbie Taylor, Poole
