Chartered Wealth Manager
The financial planning profession is changing again.
Since the merge of the Institute of Financial Planning (IFP) – the UK-based body responsible for promoting the benefits of financial planning to consumers – with the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI) – the professional body of choice for professionals in the securities and investment industry in the UK, I have become a CFP Chartered Member of the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment (CISI).
Now that’s a mouthful!
As a new member I’ve had the opportunity to earn myself the title of Chartered Wealth Manager.
What is the Chartered Wealth Manager qualification about?
The Chartered Wealth Manager qualification is a progressive, specialist qualification – equivalent to a Masters Degree – comprised of three units: Financial Markets, Portfolio Construction Theory and Applied Wealth Management. It provides a sound grounding in economics and interpretation of economic statistics, financial statements, investment analysis, portfolio construction and applied wealth management. Obtaining the qualification demonstrates a paramount level of competence in creating investment portfolios that meet the needs of a client.
