The Power of Financial Planning, PFS Regional Conference 2018
Justin delivered a talk to 200 financial advisers at the Personal Finance Society’s (PFS’s) regional conference in June 2018. Entitled ‘The Power of Financial Planning’, the talk’s aim as twofold. Firstly, to share his insights into what makes excellent financial planning and secondly, to inspire other IFAs to deliver true financial planning, which is still relatively rare.
The response was incredibly positive. A few advisers in the audience came to chat to Justin afterwards, looking for coaching for their individual businesses:
“It was great to see how engaged everyone listening was .. a great power session from Justin”.
“Your session at the PFS Regional Conference made a big impact with me.”
Brooks Macdonald Adviser Roadshow 2018
Since 2009 we have integrated the tools of financial life planning, as taught by The Kinder Institute of Life Planning, into how we work with clients at MFP. Almost ten years later and sadly, despite the enormous benefits this truly holistic approach to financial planning can bring, there are fewer than 100 Registered Life Planners in the UK today.
The Kinder Institute wishes to change that. In April, Justin gave the first in a series of presentations to 80 IFA clients of investment managers Brooks Macdonald, sharing his experience of integrating a non-traditional approach to financial planning into a real IFA practice.
Justin spoke at the annual Science of Retirement Conference in London in March 2018. Now in its 4th year, the Science of Retirement Conference is the go-to event for advisers looking for in-depth research-based insight into retirement income planning.
Justin was proud to be speaking alongside one of his mentors, Nick Murray. Nick is one of the professions premier speakers, and the author of twelve books for financial services professionals. The focus of Justin’s talk was on strategies for providing retirement income by sustainably withdrawing funds from an investment portfolio – a topic he is passionate about as this is crucial to clients outliving their money rather than them outliving their funds!
