Early on Wednesday morning I received a call from BBC Radio Solent asking to interview me live on air later that morning. The topic was ‘Are pension schemes being too generous with offers to opt out of defined benefit pension plans?’
During the six minute interview with Alun Newman I explained how DB pension schemes calculate offers for opting out, the benefits of these gold plated schemes, the inflation risk and what people should consider before making the leap.
I even managed to get in a reference to Readers Digest!
Jump to 1 hour 40 mins and 20 seconds (sandwiched between Wham!’s Jitterbug and Bryan Ferry’s Let’s Stick Together …) to listen to the interview.
